Civil War in Sudan
Sudan's Civil War started 1983, the year of independence. The war was between the north and south. Over 4 million people ran away from Sudan. Many people were killed and women were raped. Kids were brought in huts, then burnt to death. Some were couragous and esapced. But it was very hard to run away with little food and no where to go. People walked for miles not knowing when they would stop. They died of diease and poverty along the way. They killed about 2 million people and displaced 4 million. Many people went in refugee. The civil war formally came to an end when the two sides signed the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in January, 2005.
Lost Boys of Sudan
On friday we continued watching the lost boys of Sudan. It showed how different culture is. The lost boys have never seen electercity, or different kinds of food, and they don't understand that much. As we started the boys where on a plane to america. They discovered that butter tastes like soap and how to lock the stall of the bathroom. The lost boys were very thankful for what they recieved. After 3 months, they got jobs and soon were able to support themselves but they also had to repay the trip to america. With all this, the lost boy were thinking about their family they left in Kenya. DINKA IS THE TRIBE THAT JOHN, PATHER, AND DANIEL WHERE FROM IN SUDAN.
